The country is engaged in strengthening its democratic institutions to encourage private initiative in the economy. In fact, the current government has communicated its intention to stimulate investment in large infrastructural works to modernise Peru. On 28 March 2014, the consortium comprising Salini Impregilo Group and other international groups won the contract for the construction and operation of the extension to Lima’s metro network under concession from P-Agencia de Promociòn de la Inversiòn Privada. The project includes the construction of the works and operation of the infrastructure over the 35-year concession.

The Group’s share of the construction work is 25.5% of the civil works. The five-year project includes the development of a 35 km-long underground line. The contract is worth approximately USD3,019 million (inclusive of variations).

The Group will continue to pursue new business opportunities in 2016 in line with the country’s growth.
